Workforce Development & Training

Workforce Development & Training

Within CLBD we recognise and value the importance of having a well-trained staff team. Providing our staff with quality up-to-date training ensures that we are able to provide quality services for our individuals. All staff beginning their journey with CLBD are required to undertake a full induction and training programme. Our training approach is a mixture of ‘classroom based’ and online training.

  • Introduction to Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) & Person-Centred Approaches

  • Studio 3 Managing Signs of Stress (MSS) & Low arousal approaches

  • NVQs levels 2-5 supported

  • Trauma Awareness

  • Awareness and Wellbeing Training

  • Mindfulness Based Strength Practices

  • Person specific training, epilepsy, autism, mental health training, bespoke person centred workshops.

Training in isolation is not the answer. Staff are also supported in service by the training team, working alongside both service users and staff teams. Mentoring and coaching our staff within a practice leadership framework where we reflect upon our own behaviour, responses, and our impact upon the environment. This emphasis helps us to continually improve our services, staff and bring around organisational change which improves the outcomes of the individuals we support.

CLBD provides a range of wellbeing training for both staff and people using services. A whole organisational approach is adopted. These range from introductions to Awareness & Wellbeing workshops to comprehensive 8 – week programmes. Positive Psychology Interventions are embedded across all these events and emphasis is placed upon Strengths based approaches – specifically Character Strengths and Mindfulness.

We expect all our staff to share the philosophy and values of CLBD and we develop this throughout an individual’s time with the organisation. CLBD has a proven track record of promoting and developing individuals within the organisation.

  • They are very good to work for; open, honest and give us lots of preparation to support people. Supervisions are useful, but we also just talk to each other. Any of the managers are really approachable.

    STAFF MEMBER

  • The service was well led by managers that had good oversight of the day to day running of the service. Staff and people knew the registered manager and deputy manager well. Through conversations with the registered manager it was evident they were passionate about ensuring that people received high quality, person centred care. Feedback from relatives, staff and health professionals echoed this. CQC QUOTE
