Training and Development

CLBD are committed to the learning and development of our team. We provide:

» Shadowing for new starters: Once successful in the recruitment process each Manager will allocate the new staff member supernumerary shifts working alongside experienced staff members whilst enabling them to read the person centred care plans and relevant policies and procedures.

» Support to obtain new qualifications in Health and Social Care through our accredited partners: Every staff member has the opportunity to complete the NVQ level 2 & 3. We work with outside agencies who come into the services and work with staff members so that they are able to obtain their qualifications.

» Regular training sessions and best practice days: We purchase outside providers to deliver First Aid, Autism Sensory Awareness, Mental Health and Epilepsy and Safeguarding. We aim to promote our good work through best practice days.

» Regular supervision: This is completed on a 4 -6 weekly basis or as required.

» Specialist training to manage evolving service user needs: Manual Handling training has been provided for identified staff that work with Individuals that have complex mobility needs. Our PROACT-SCIPr-UK® instructors provide specialist training around individual/service specific needs as well as the compulsory 2 day introductory course. If it is felt at assessment or monitoring of an individual that specific training is required this will be implemented at the earliest opportunity.

» Regular team meetings: We aim for team meetings to occur a minimum of 3 monthly.
